Thought I would post an update on what I'm learning at the moment. I still haven't had another guitar lesson so no change there really except I'm trying to learn All The Small Things. But lets just say I'm not a natural guitarist.
For drums, I'm learning Move Along by All American Rejects, it's a really great song to drum to. My teacher gave me the main tabs but he hadn't tabbed the chorus beat (i.e. the hard part) so I had to learn it by ear. I think it's right... 16's on Hi Hat with snare on '2-and' and 4 with 2 snares on the second bar etc etc. Right? Anyone?
Cya next time.

Rock Band!!
I love playing my real drums, but the Rock Band drums are really fun too, and even though the feel is nothing like playing real drums their really good to learn on. I've improved quite a lot since I started playing RB.
I'm up to the last set on Expert Drums, god damn you Run to the Hills..
It's easy to play a RB song on a real kit just as long as you know which RB pad is what drum/cymbal. Fun too.
I can't say the same about guitar though.. No matter how many times I gold star Welcome Home it just doesn't happen on real guitar =[.
ADDITIONALLLLLY: I CAN ALMOST PLAY THE SMOKE ON TEH WATERS INTROOO! HELLS YEAH (Noob)
See you (anyone?) laters.

Today..
Well today I had a guitar lesson. My first one so I suck badly hehe. I think the excess guitar hero-ing helps a little though, at least in a small way. I started learning Smoke on the Water (Doesn't everyone?) and also What I've Done.
Lets hope I get good at guitar!

More about me
So I've already blogged about my setup, so now I think I will tell everyone (If this is ever read!) about my actual drumming.
Like I said in an earlier post, I have been drumming for a little over a year. My favorite bands mainly fall into the categories of Rock, Metal or Emo. But no hardcore Deathscreamcrap. Currently my favorite bands are Coheed and Cambria, Avenged Sevenfold and Panic! at the Disco (I am aware that as of the second album they got rid of the '!' but that was an impostor band and I refuse to believe that that crap was churned out by the same guys that made the first one).
I guess I'll post updates when I start learning a new song, progress on my learning or master it. My teacher tabs songs for me, since their extremely hard to come across on the Internet, then once I have mastered it he will give me a new, harder song to play, he always tries to give me songs by artists I like though.
I'll later post a list of all the songs I have 'Mastered' and ones I'm learning. And in case your wondering, I don't only ever rely on having the tabs done for me, I have taught myself a lot of songs by ear, but I don't consider these 'Mastered' because the rolls and some other parts will undoubtedly be slightly wrong.

-Bass Drum 22"x16"
-Floor Tom 16"x16"
-Tom 13"x11"
-Tom 12"x10"
The kit came with Pearl hats, Crash and a Ride, but cymbal setup is currently:
Zildjian ZBT 14" Hats
Zildjian ZBT 16" Crash
Zildjain ZBT 18" Crash
Pearl 20" Ride -- Yeah haven't gotten round to replacing this yet heh

Pearl 112TW Double Bass Pedal -- I love this thing, I was stuck with a Stagg for a while and it sucked bum
Overall it's not a bad setup I would say, it sounds pretty good. Still needs some work though.

IntroductioN
Good day!
Currently I have no idea who (If anyone!) will end up reading this, but blogging is what all the cool kids do these days right? So I thought I would give it a shot.
Firstly, my name is Joey. I'm 16 and live in the UK. I've decided to base this blog on my only actual hobby, drumming. I've only been drumming for a little over a year, so I'm obviously not the best there is.. But my idea is that as I learn I will blog about it and will therefore hopefully help aspiring drummers like myself who happen to read it. I'l be posting some stuff about my current setup in the next post.
